Payroll Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join the head office of a rapidly growing national retail business based in Maroochydore.

With a large workforce across Australia and New Zealand and continued growth ahead, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of payroll, improving processes and working within a fast-paced, people-focused business.

You will take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll function across Australia and New Zealand, while leading and developing a small payroll team.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end payroll across Australia and New Zealand
• Overseeing payroll for a large, multi-site workforce
• Leading and supporting a small payroll team
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls
• Managing superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and statutory obligations
• Ensuring compliance with relevant awards, legislation and employment requirements
• Managing payroll reporting, reconciliations and month-end requirements
• Working closely with Finance, HR and operational teams
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and controls
• Supporting the business as it continues to grow and evolve

About You

We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who is confident taking ownership of a complex payroll environment.

You will ideally have:

• Strong end-to-end payroll experience
• Previous experience managing or leading a payroll function
• Experience within a multi-site or high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong systems capability
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved
• Experience with New Zealand payroll will be highly regarded
