This is a standalone payroll position where you'll take full ownership of payroll operations across multiple legal entities, managing both fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a workforce of approximately 150 employees. With a mix of salaried and hourly employees working across complex rotating rosters, this role will suit a payroll professional who enjoys autonomy and is confident managing the complete payroll function.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • End-to-end payroll processing across three Australian legal entities
  • Managing fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Processing payroll for salaried and hourly manufacturing employees
  • Reviewing timesheets, overtime, shift penalties, allowances and leave transactions
  • Administering payroll tax, superannuation, STP and statutory reporting requirements
  • Managing workers compensation declarations and insurer queries
  • Payroll reporting, reconciliations and audit support
  • Processing annual remuneration reviews, bonus payments and sales commissions
  • Supporting Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting requirements
  • Acting as the key payroll subject matter expert for employees, managers and stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate:

  • Extensive Australian payroll experience in an end-to-end position
  • Previous experience operating as a standalone Payroll Manager or Payroll Specialist
  • Strong exposure to hourly payroll environments and complex roster arrangements
  • Experience interpreting shift penalties, overtime and award conditions
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, payroll tax, superannuation and ATO reporting requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet critical payroll deadlines
  • Advanced Excel and payroll reporting capabilities

Highly Regarded

  • ADP payroll experience
  • Manufacturing, industrial or 24/7 operational workforce experience
  • Experience managing payroll for rotating 8-hour and 12-hour rosters
  • Time and attendance system administration experience
  • Exposure to workers compensation reporting and WGEA submissions

What's on Offer?

  • Flexible 4-day working week
  • Hybrid working arrangement (2 days office / 2 days WFH)
  • Comprehensive handover and training period
  • Free onsite parking
  • Autonomous role with full ownership of the payroll function
  • Opportunity to join a stable and respected manufacturing organisation
  • Potential for the contract to extend beyond the initial 6-month term
