Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next opportunity?
An established professional services organisation is seeking a capable Payroll Manager to take ownership of its end-to-end payroll function. This standalone position is ideal for someone with experience in a legal or professional services environment who enjoys working autonomously, maintaining accuracy and identifying opportunities to improve processes.

Who will you be supporting?
You will manage payroll across multiple entities, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure accurate processing, regulatory compliance and effective payroll reporting. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking responsibility for the entire payroll function.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Managing end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring employee payments are accurate and completed on time. You will oversee payroll compliance, including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and WorkCover contributions, alongside salary adjustments, bonuses, terminations and leave entitlements. You will maintain payroll systems and confidential employee records, manage payroll queries, prepare monthly and annual reconciliations, and produce financial, headcount and salary reporting. You will also identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and contribute to broader Finance and Technology projects.

Do you have the following skillset?
You will have at least three years' experience in a similar payroll role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, end-to-end processing and payroll systems is essential, alongside intermediate Excel skills and experience managing multiple payroll entities across different states.

Experience with Definitiv would be highly regarded. You will bring exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to manage a standalone function.

Working Arrangements
This is a full-time, five-day-per-week office-based position in Melbourne CBD, offering a salary package of up to $120,000.

Contact
If you are interested, apply now or contact Erica Brown at [email protected] or call [0400 111 741](tel:0400 111 741) for a confidential chat.
