The Role

Every person at HydroJug needs to be paid right, have benefits that work, and know what their job is, what the next level looks like and what it pays. You will own all three. You will run payroll and benefits end to end, and you will build our job architecture from the ground up: job families, levels, what each level is responsible for, what it takes to move up, and a pay band for every level. You will report to our Director of Human Resources.

What You Will Do

• Run bi-weekly payroll for every employee, reconciled to the general ledger
• Own payroll tax filings and year-end W-2, 1099 and ACA reporting
• Administer benefits and the 401(k), lead the annual renewal and manage our benefits broker
• Build our job families, levels and pay bands from market data, and roll them out with leaders across the company
• Write what each level owns and what it takes to reach the next one
• Keep the structure current as we grow, pricing every new role into it

What You Bring

• 7 or more years in payroll, benefits or compensation, with at least three owning payroll end to end
• Hands-on multi-state payroll, tax filings and year-end reporting
• Benefits and 401(k) administration, including a renewal or open enrollment
• A job leveling or pay band structure you built from market data and rolled out
• Strong spreadsheet skills, and the ability to explain a pay decision clearly

A CPP or CCP, experience bringing payroll in-house, and consumer products or manufacturing experience are a plus.
