Payroll Officer

About the role

Zoom Recruitment is seeking a detail oriented Payroll Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Keilor Park, VIC 3042, this role is fundamental to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our organisation. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role processing payroll for our external workforce across multiple awards and enterprise agreements. You'll be a key part of a payroll function backed by a supportive team and strong systems.

Key responsibilities

• Process and administer payroll for employees on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Maintain accurate employee records

• Calculate and process employee entitlements including wages, superannuation contributions and employee benifits in accordance with awards and enterprise agreements

• Liaise with employees and managers regarding payroll queries and employment-related matters

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information

• Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and processes

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Payroll Officer in a complex, high-volume environment
• FastTrack360 experience highly regarded
• Strong award, EBA and agreement interpretation skills — core to this role
• Experience paying a casualised workforce with timesheets across multiple awards and agreements
• High-level Excel and strong payroll systems capability
• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation and tax obligations
• Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong time management and a sense of urgency to meet tight pay deadlines
• A solutions-first mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
