Payroll Officer

Bell Potter Securities Limited is a market leading financial advisory and stockbroking firm that is a part of the listed Bell Financial Group (ASX:BFG). We have a strong track record of offering high quality professional advice to private, corporate and institutional clients across Australia.

We are looking to recruit a Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team, based in Melbourne. This is a fixed term contract for 5 months.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the end-to-end processing of monthly payroll including commission payments and other variable earnings.
• Review monthly attendance records, manage leave requests and timesheets, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with onboarding of new employees.
• Responding to payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with month end reporting including Tax, Leave and Superannuation.
• Perform other administrative duties as required by the Payroll/HR Team.
• Ensure that all Payroll/HR information is handled with strict confidentiality and in a secure environment.

Required Experience:

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with strong numeracy capability.
• High attention to detail with a thorough and accurate approach.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Committed, reliable and highly organised.
• Task focused.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll processes is desirable.

This is a faced paced hands-on role, providing an excellent opportunity for someone to join a market leading financial services firm and to work within a supportive team environment. Training provided and immediate start is available.
