What they need

xrecruiter is a recruitment partner network platform connecting independent recruitment partners with the infrastructure, payroll, and back-office support they need to run their own recruitment business. We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our finance team on a part-time or full-time basis, supporting our growing partner network.

Headquartered in Brisbane, our team is small, tight-knit, and deeply passionate about making a real impact. We invest heavily in our people, offering personal development budgets for all staff, work-from-home days, ESOP share ownership, offsite workshops, and a range of benefits designed to support genuine fulfilment at work.

The role

Our payroll team is growing and we're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to provide hands-on support to our payroll team. This is a hybrid role, combining time in our Brisbane office with the flexibility to work from home. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across our recruitment partner network. We want someone to start as part-time, but open to consider excellent candidates for full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with end-to-end weekly payroll processing for multiple partners.

  • Managing payroll inbox and managing payroll queries from staff and partners in a timely, professional manner.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy and compliance with relevant awards and legislation.

  • Strong understanding of multiple awards and EBAs

  • Review and validate timesheets, pay rates and deductions.

  • Weekly super lodgements and stapling super funds.

  • Support payroll reconciliations and reporting.

  • Liaise with internal teams to resolve partner payroll queries in a timely manner.

  • Assist with process improvements and documentation to streamline payroll operations.

Experience we're looking for:

  • 5+ years experience in a payroll (labour hire or recruitment industry experience highly regarded).
  • Experience with 2cloudnine payroll platform is highly advantageous.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance and award interpretation.
  • Highly organised, reliable and proactive.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to think outside the box and have solution-oriented mindset.
