Silk Hospitality is a proudly Australian-owned and operated hotel services company headquartered in Perth. Since 2009, we have grown into a leading provider of housekeeping and support services to some of Australia's most recognised hotels.

We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in a full-time, permanent capacity. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services across multiple states while contributing to payroll improvement initiatives and process efficiencies.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You'll assist with the processing of payroll for more than 1,500 employees across WA, SA, VIC, ACT, NSW and QLD, while providing exceptional support to employees and stakeholders.

Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you'll maintain payroll records, process employee lifecycle changes, assist with compliance obligations, and support reporting and improvement initiatives that help drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for 1,500+ employees
• Process new starters, terminations, payroll adjustments and employee changes
• Respond to payroll enquiries and provide first-level payroll support
• Maintain payroll systems, employee records and payroll data integrity
• Assist with the calculation and processing of superannuation, PAYG, termination payments and redundancies
• Assist with payroll tax, workers' compensation and compliance reporting
• Support month-end, end-of-year and ad hoc reporting requirements
• Contribute to payroll projects and process improvement initiatives

You are an experienced Payroll Officer who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering accurate work. You have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You will bring:

• Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
• Experience processing high-volume payrolls
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong systems skills with the ability to learn new processes quickly
