Payroll Processor – 3-Month Contract

Location: McKinney, TX

Pay: $25–$30/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote

Contract Length: 3 months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Processor for a 3-month contract opportunity with a large, fast-paced organization in McKinney. This position will focus exclusively on high-volume payroll processing and is ideal for someone with strong Workday Payroll experience who thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment.

The payroll team processes payroll for approximately 22,000 employees , and this position will be responsible for processing payroll for a designated employee population of up to 5,000 employees .

Because the payroll department is highly specialized, this role will focus specifically on payroll processing rather than garnishments or other ancillary payroll functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume payroll accurately and efficiently using Workday
• Manage payroll processing for an employee population of up to 5,000
• Review payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure payroll is processed according to established deadlines and procedures
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders regarding payroll-related questions and issues
• Follow established payroll procedures and maintain confidentiality of employee information

Qualifications

• Required: Prior Workday Payroll experience
• Previous experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a large payroll team
