Payroll Representative

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process employee payroll data, maintain accurate employee records, and handle inquiries from employees and auditors.
• Responsible for input and verification of data to support timely payroll for assigned employee groups
• Review all hires, terminations, and position changes in payroll information on assigned groups for accuracy
• Assist with preparation of bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports and documents
• Assist with compilation of audit documents and internal control procedures to align with SBOA best practices and Indiana Code
• Respond to all questions regarding current and historical employee pay documents in a timely and professional manner
• Coordinate with offsite locations to ensure absence tracking and payroll timekeeping is accurate and adjust as necessary
• Ensure that payroll is compliant with board policies, federal/state/local tax laws, labor laws, and teacher contract agreements
• Assist with other payroll, benefits, and miscellaneous business-related tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:

• Computer experience required, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and payroll best practices.
• Absolute commitment to confidentiality.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Team player, cooperative, self-starter.
• Demonstrated punctuality and good attendance.
• Ability to communicate well verbally.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Participate in professional development as assigned.
• High school diploma.
• Accounting/Payroll experience preferred.
