Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and efficiently using various payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported platforms
• Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies related to payroll processing
• Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and journal entries to maintain data integrity
• Handle sensitive confidential information with discretion while managing employee records and payroll data
• Prepare and review payroll reports, tax filings, and audit documentation in accordance with governmental accounting standards
• Collaborate with HRIS teams to update employee information in HR systems and ensure seamless integration across platforms
• Support payroll tax calculations, deductions, benefits administration, and time & attendance systems management
• Assist with account reconciliation processes related to payroll expenses and related financial transactions

Requirements

• Proven experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of employment & labor law, tax law, and governmental accounting standards affecting payroll processing
• Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software, financial software, and general ledger reconciliation techniques
• Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries and non-profit or governmental accounting preferred
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and data entry accurately under tight deadlines
• Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism
• Ability to perform detailed work involving 10 key typing skills and double entry bookkeeping methods

Pay: $26.00 - $38.00 per hour
