POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations at scale, processing 500+ employee payrolls each cycle. The role requires hands-on expertise in statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, LWF, PT), advanced MS Excel for payroll computation and reconciliation, accurate attendance and leave management, and consistent delivery of 100% payroll accuracy within strict timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Processing & Data Accuracy

• Process end-to-end payroll for minimum 500+ employees per cycle, covering salaries, incentives, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.
• Validate attendance and time inputs from HRMS/biometric systems, ensuring 100% accuracy before payroll processing.
• Manage employee leave records leave balances, encashment, and loss-of-pay (LOP) calculations — with accurate reconciliation against attendance data.
• Maintain payroll registers, reconcile bank transfer files, and ensure error-free payslip generation using Excel-based working sheets.
• Prepare and manage salary structures, CTC breakups, and variable pay computations in Excel.

Statutory Compliance

• Ensure complete, on-time compliance with PF, ESIC, LWF, and PT — registrations, monthly filings, and reconciliation.
• Liaise with statutory authorities and auditors for inspections and assessments; track regulatory changes and implement updates proactively.

Accuracy, Controls & Reporting

• Own payroll, attendance, and leave accuracy metrics; implement multi-level checks to ensure zero-error output.
• Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits and reconciliations to resolve discrepancies before disbursement.
• Generate MIS reports, accuracy dashboards, and variance analysis for leadership review.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven, hands-on experience processing minimum 500+ employee payroll on a recurring basis.
• Strong working knowledge of PF, ESIC, LWF, PT, and related statutory compliance across states.
• Practical experience in attendance tracking and leave management systems, with a focus on data accuracy.
• Proficiency in payroll/HRMS platforms.
• Advanced MS Excel skills for payroll — VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, SUMIF/SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, nested IF formulas, conditional formatting, and data validation for large-scale reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder management ability.
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, HR, or Finance (MBA/PGDM preferred); payroll or labour law certification is an advantage.
