About the role

Are you an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery?

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our People & Capability team. In this role, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, payroll compliance, reporting, and payroll-related employee queries, with some limited HR administration support as and when required.

What you'll be doing

• Managing wages and salaried payrolls accurately and on time
• Ensuring payroll compliance, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, leave entitlements, and other statutory requirements
• Maintaining accurate payroll records, employee data, and related system information
• Producing payroll reports and insights to support leaders and decision-making
• Contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems, and controls
• Processing new starters, employee changes, and final pays
• Responding to payroll and employee benefit enquiries
• Providing limited HR administration support, such as onboarding documentation and employee lifecycle updates

What we're looking for

• Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a New Zealand environment
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• A sound understanding of payroll systems, data accuracy, reconciliations, and reporting
• Confidence providing accurate payroll advice and support to employees and managers
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills
