Payroll Specialist

LHH has partnered with a mission-driven organization in South Jersey to identify a Payroll Specialist to join its growing Finance team. This position offers a unique opportunity for an accounting professional with payroll expertise to take ownership of a critical payroll function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly payroll for 300+ employees
• Review payroll activity including deductions, benefits, PTO, overtime, and payroll changes
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
• Reconcile payroll taxes, benefit deductions, and payroll-related liabilities
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation
• Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of accounting and payroll experience
• Experience processing payroll for a mid-sized or large employee population
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Experience with payroll/HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred)
• ERP experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Compensation:

$60,000-$68,000

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision

PTO is offered on an accrual basis
