Payroll Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team at Omnicom Advertising.

Omnicom Advertising is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a supportive and fun finance team. This isn’t just another payroll position, you’d be working with a system that’s relatively uncommon in the NZ market, building a distinctive piece of system expertise.

The role

The Payroll Specialist will support the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll across Omnicom Advertising.

Working closely with the NZ Finance team, HR team, payroll officers and staff, you’ll play an important role in day-to-day payroll processing, data validation, reconciliations, reporting and payroll queries.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate and timely payroll processing across all pay cycles.
• Prepare, enter and validate payroll data, including adjustments, allowances, deductions and leave payments.
• Review payroll outputs and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting and payroll controls.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Manager day-to-day payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Work closely with People, Finance and external payroll providers to revolve payroll matters.
• Support payroll compliance, audits, year-end activities and reporting requirements.
• Assist with payroll system, HRIS and data integration and documentation.
• Support testing and implementation of payroll system and process changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, data quality, controls and service delivery.

What will you bring?

We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist or Analyst that has extensive experience in NZ payroll processing and administration, who has a thorough understanding of NZ payroll legislation and compliance.

• Experience working with ADP payroll system is ideal, but not essential.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting and financial controls.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• High level of confidentiality, discretion and professional judgement.
