Our client is a purpose driven not for profit organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temporary assignment within its People & Culture team.

Responsibilities Include

• Preparing and validating payroll data before submission to the external payroll provider
• Reviewing payroll reports and checking payments, deductions and leave balances for accuracy
• Investigating discrepancies and coordinating corrections and adjustments
• Reviewing award classifications, pay rates, travel and overnight allowances, and enterprise agreement conditions
• Responding to employee payroll queries and explaining outcomes clearly
• Improving payroll controls and processes to reduce manual intervention

Skills & Experience

• Strong end to end payroll experience, including award and enterprise agreement interpretation
• Confidence investigating pay, leave and system discrepancies
• Experience with complex classifications, allowances or mixed employment arrangements
• A curious, proactive approach to problem solving
• Clear communication skills and an interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds
• Employment Hero experience would be advantageous
