Payroll Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processes payroll and statutory deductions accurately and within agreed payroll timeline
• Ensures that all statutory deductions and loans are processed accurately
• Generates payroll-related reports, including but not limited to payroll register as well as taxation reports
• Keeps updated with industry trends and mandatory requirements, particularly in the areas of benefits and compensation management and related tax administration
• Assists HR in coordinating with employees regarding queries on payroll such as deductions, withholding taxes and other payroll-related matters
• Manages statutory benefits report
• Processes and submits BIR regulatory reports such as alphalist and income tax return of all employees on a timely manner
• Participates on regular internal and external audits and special projects.  May work with external auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
• Continuously reviews current payroll process and identify areas for improvement

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business course
• With at least 3 years experience in Payroll and Accounting
• Well versed in accounting practices specially with Income Tax
• Knowledge of using Payroll system
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage
• Good understanding of local taxation
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel
• Experience working for an Australian or any financial institution is preferred
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Positive disposition and can-do attitude
• Ability to work well within a team environment
