Duties

• Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain employee records within HRIS platforms and ensure data integrity across systems like PeopleSoft, HRIS, or similar.
• Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Stay current on employment laws, tax regulations, and labor law compliance to implement necessary updates within payroll procedures.
• Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions; handle debits & credits accurately in the general ledger.
• Manage payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with governmental reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with accounting teams on non-profit or governmental accounting standards when applicable; support audit processes with detailed documentation.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality while managing data entry tasks efficiently in payroll systems.
• Support time & attendance systems such as Kronos or other time-tracking tools to verify hours worked before processing payroll.
• Assist with employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, tax questions, or benefits deductions promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with payroll systems including Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll tax regulations, and financial concepts related to payroll management.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks or equivalent), and general ledger reconciliation techniques.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and time & attendance platforms; experience supporting technical payroll functions is highly desirable.
• Understanding of technical accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits.
• Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and data validation tasks.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments including HR and finance teams.

Pay: $27.93 - $33.64 per hour
