Payroll Specialist

My client is an established and highly respected Financial Services organisation who manage and administer a wide range of personal and corporate pension schemes.

Due to growth they currently seek a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll specialist to oversee the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll services while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the processing and reconciliation of monthly and ad hoc pension payrolls.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and adherence to legislative requirements.
• Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting, and payroll validation processes.
• Handle complex payroll queries and escalations.
• Support the delivery of excellent customer service across multiple communication channels.
• Monitor operational activities and prioritise workload to meet payroll deadlines.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency.
• Support less experienced colleagues to develop capability and performance.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best-practice payroll operations.

About You

You will bring:

• Strong experience in payroll administration
• Sound understanding of PAYE, pension payroll legislation, taxation, and Real Time Information (RTI)
• Experience performing payroll reconciliations and analysing payroll reports
• Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage strict payroll deadlines
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience working within a regulated environment
• A proactive approach to process improvement and operational excellence
