Payroll Specialist

Harding, Shymanski & Co., P.S.C. ( https://www.hsccpa.com ), a leading public accounting and consulting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, payroll tax preparation, and payroll tax registration preparation to work in our payroll outsourcing department. This department processes payroll from start to finish for our firms’ clients on an outsourced basis. This position is full time with some expanded hours during periods required by the payroll industry. This position could be staffed out of our Evansville office or our Louisville office.

Job Duties:

• Process payroll from start to finish for assigned clients utilizing our firms standardized processing procedures.
• Be able to support clients with payroll troubleshooting / payroll client support tickets
• Effective communication with clients and ability to explain specific requirements to collect data, documents and other information needed to effectively serve those clients
• Provide quality self-review procedures for work performed to take ownership of your work
• Prepare payroll tax filings for clients
• Assist with payroll projects as required by the firm on an as-requested basis

Requirements:

• 5+ years of payroll experience with an emphasis on payroll tax knowledge, a strong understanding of payroll rules and taxability of various earnings codes & deduction codes
• Experience with any of the following payroll related software is a plus: payroll software ISolved
• Capable and motivated to provide our clients with excellent and timely client service
• Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to self-start and manage projects independently
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and co-workers
• Motivated to work as team member and to be able to build consensus to implement new ideas and procedures that are deemed necessary
