PCA

Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide essential support and care to individuals in various residential and community settings. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, combined with experience in patient care, assisted living, and home health environments. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.

Older women 3 days a week 3 hours per day except Tuesdays 6 hrs , Pickens area

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure timely intervention and appropriate care.
• Support medication administration following prescribed guidelines while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption as needed.
• Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility.
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices aligned with health standards.
• Document care activities accurately in care plans and communicate effectively with team members about resident needs.
• Provide personal transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings to foster social engagement and independence.

Skills

• Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice support strategies.
• Proficiency in patient observation, patient monitoring, and implementing individualized care plans.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs measurement.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities; supporting intellectual disabilities is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining a respectful approach toward residents’ privacy.
• Competence in first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures.
