PCBA Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• PCBA Process Development & Optimization: Develop, evaluate, and optimize PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, DIP, wave soldering, reflow soldering, and final assembly, to improve production efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize defects and material waste.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to production by monitoring assembly processes, identifying bottlenecks, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Equipment & Process Setup: Select, install, commission, program, and maintain PCBA production equipment such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, ICT, and functional test systems. Ensure equipment calibration and preventive maintenance are carried out.
• Quality Assurance & Process Control: Establish and maintain process control standards to ensure products meet IPC, customer, and regulatory requirements. Support quality improvement activities through SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process capability analysis.
• Documentation & Standardization: Prepare and maintain work instructions, process flow charts, SOPs, machine parameters, engineering change documentation (ECN/ECO), and technical reports to ensure standardized manufacturing practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and yield improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce manufacturing costs, improve first-pass yield (FPY), and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all PCBA manufacturing processes comply with EHS regulations, IPC standards, ISO quality management systems, and company safety policies.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to support new product introduction by conducting DFM/DFT reviews, process validation, pilot builds, line qualification, and smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and suppliers to resolve technical issues, implement engineering changes, and achieve manufacturing objectives.
• Other Duties: Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time, as deemed necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing, SMT/DIP production, process engineering, or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, DIP, reflow soldering, wave soldering, PCB assembly, AOI, SPI, ICT, functional testing, and ESD control.
• Experience in process optimization, yield improvement, root cause analysis, CAPA, and New Product Introduction (NPI) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, and familiar with ERP/MES systems and production data analysis.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to resolve manufacturing and process-related issues effectively.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with all level.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project and production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
