In this role, you will be at the forefront of market access and surveillance for the China / APAC region. You will not only launch cutting-edge sustainable energy technology by compliance testing in China / APAC but also navigate the complex landscape of China / APAC standards to secure Tesla’s products launch in the future.

Role And Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and execute hands-on validation and compliance tests on Tesla energy products in our Shanghai laboratory.
• Develop detailed test plans, meticulously document test procedures and results, and author comprehensive technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues discovered during testing, collaborating with design engineers to find solutions.
• Clearly communicate test outcomes, key findings, and project status to engineering and management teams.
• Prepare and configure Power Conversion Systems for external testing and provide on-site technical support at third-party labs to validate PCS performance, safety, EMC and grid connection interoperability.
• Represent the company in key standards development organizations (e.g., GB/T, IEC, CENELEC) and industry associations to actively shape future technical regulations.
• Lead and manage local / global certification projects for Tesla's Energy products, including battery storage and grid-interface systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory, or homologation.
• Proven hands-on experience in a test engineering role within a laboratory or field environment, preferably with power electronics, EV charging, or related systems.
• Proficiency with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters, data acquisition systems).
• Experience in creating test plans, executing test procedures, and writing clear, concise technical reports.
• Expert-level knowledge of compliance testing in one or more of the following areas: electrical safety (LVD), EMC or grid connection of PCS, such as GB/T34120, GB/T34133, IEC 62109, UL 1741, GB4824, GB/T 17626 series, IEC 61000 series, FCC Part 15.
• Familiarity with China and European grid codes, including, GB/T36547, GB/36548, EU RfG, EN 50549 series, German (VDE-AR-N 4105/4110/4120), UK (G98/99/100), Italian (CEI-021), Spanish (UNE 217001/2), Belgian (C10/11), and others.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a meticulous, detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage testing projects with minimal supervision, both in the lab and in the field.
• Willingness to travel to external test labs and field sites as required.
