PCS Technician

The PCS Technician works closely with the PCS Engineer to implement advanced process control strategies, utilizing their strong background in industrial automation, process control, and specific experience with Cement libraries and local programming languages to integrate new technologies and optimize production.

Responsibilities:

• Supports, maintains, and optimizes Process Control System (PCS) logic and software configurations—including advanced loop tuning and device calibration—to drive improvements in production efficiency, quality, and energy consumption.
• Provides expert technical support and troubleshooting and diagnosis for complex system faults to minimize downtime, while managing backups, disaster recovery, and the commissioning of new hardware and field instrumentation.
• Protects physical and digital OT network infrastructure by enforcing IEC 62443 standards, IT/OT convergence controls, and Holcim’s Minimum Control Standards (MCS) against cyber threats.
• Ensures all control system procedures, documentation, and security measures remain fully compliant with safety regulations and internal industry standards.
• Provides support guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel on the functionality and proper use of the control systems.
• Serves as the technical expert for control system issues during regular operations and emergency situations

Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Technology.
• Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in industrial maintenance, specializing in control systems in a heavy process industry.
• Must be knowledgeable in ICS, SCADA, DCS, and PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell, ABB) combined with a deep understanding of cement manufacturing processes, advanced loop tuning, and instrumentation.
• Must be knowledgeable in industrial networking protocols (Profinet, Profibus, OPC) and OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443), with a proven ability to implement Holcim-specific standards like HAC, StDC, and PAG.
