Your Role on the Team Position Summary The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room. Prepares and stocks the OR before and after surgery. gathers clean and sterile supplies. sets sterile instrument fields. maintains and monitors aseptic techniques. assists with the orientation of new staff. and participates on departmental committees. Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.

Required Qualifications What It Takes to be Successful

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
