PDE 2 - (Designer Solid Edge)

Role Description

This position is responsible for interpreting customers' furniture concepts and specifications to design and develop products for manufacturability while meeting customer requirements. The role involves creating accurate 3D models and 2D engineering drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring design solutions align with manufacturing capabilities and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer design specifications.
• Create and revise 3D models and 2D shop drawings/sketches for customer approval.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and support communication with customers, designers, purchasing teams, owners, and installers.
• Work closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to align designs with production capabilities (VE, DFM).
• Resolve design challenges and support project timelines.
• Ensure product designs meet performance, functional, durability, and quality requirements.
• Conduct engineering calculations and product testing as required.
• Research and specify decorative and functional hardware, materials, and unique product features.
• Support sourcing activities for purchased components.
• Identify finishes and material specifications on drawings.
• Create stone drawings and sourced product drawings.
• Maintain knowledge of customer brand standards.
• Support product development and engineering change processes.

• Product Development & Engineering Change Processes.
• Knowledge of Casegoods / Seating Industry.
• Understanding of materials such as Wood, Metal, Plastic, Composites, Glass, Acrylic, Fabrics, and Electrical Components.
• Ability to create and review 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Knowledge of ADA requirements, electrical codes, and industry standards.
• Experience with Design Reviews and Product Testing.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical / Automobile / Manufacturing Engineering
• Diploma with 10+ years of hands-on experience OR Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
