PE Associate

Overview

Our client is a growing lower middle-market private investment firm seeking to add an Associate to its Dallas-based investment team. The firm invests across both debt and equity capital solutions, partnering with founder-owned and sponsor-backed businesses on growth initiatives, acquisitions, recapitalizations, refinancings, and ownership transitions. This is an opportunity to join a lean, active investment team that recently raised a new fund and is deploying capital across established lower middle-market companies. The Associate will work directly alongside senior investment professionals and gain broad exposure to transaction execution, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and investment decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute debt and equity investment opportunities across a variety of industries
• Build and analyze financial models, valuation analyses, and investment materials
• Perform due diligence, industry research, and market assessments
• Assist with transaction structuring and capital stack analysis
• Support portfolio company monitoring and ongoing investment reporting
• Participate in management meetings, lender discussions, and transaction negotiations
• Work closely with senior team members throughout the full investment lifecycle

Qualifications

• 1.5-3 years of investment banking experience
• M&A, capital markets, leveraged finance, or other transaction-oriented experience preferred
• Experience at lower middle-market or middle-market investment banks is highly relevant
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills
• Self-starter who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
• Interest in long-term career growth within private markets
