• Develop critical relationships with customer engineering and manufacturing team members within the assigned customer base to support overall growth plan.
• Serve as technical spokesperson to customer materials engineering and paint manufacturing groups.
• Lead new projects launch. Establish project plans, monitor performance according to the plan, be accountable for delivering goals and objectives on target.
• Play a key role in all kinds of coating troubleshooting in all regions.
• Provide a Voice of Customer to the Axalta Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Manufacturing functions.
• Make written and oral presentations to customers.
• Manage APQP documentation for new product developments and submissions.
• Assist the Product Engineering Manager in aligning customer product approvals with Axalta strategies. Key Job Requirements:
• A bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, or related chemical background is required. Some with outstanding abilities can relax to a junior college degree.
• Adept at working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Experience working in a global environment a plus.
• Full of paint formulation and coating application skills, can solve all kinds of coating issues, such as pearl orange, crater, color difference and so on.
• Familiar with coating spraying equipment such as ABB, Durr, Fanuc; be able to proficiently use software for programming is a plus.
• Must possess at least 5-10 years of relevant coating industry experience;
• Proficient communication in English is a plus;
• Willing to travel extensively, about 70% of the time.
• Ability to influence customers and establish strong customer relationships.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with data-based decision-making capability.
• Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into product offerings / solutions.
• Strong IT, computer, and data processing skills. Proficiency in MS Office is a must. Experience using SalesForce and information databases a plus.
• Ability to collaborate and build teamwork is essential.
