Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing specialized therapy services to children with diverse needs, including those with autism, disabilities, and developmental delays. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children achieve their maximum potential through tailored interventions and collaborative care planning. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will work at an outpatient clinic to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.

Duties

• Assess and develop individualized care plans for pediatric patients with a variety of conditions, including neurodevelopmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, senosry integration disorder (sensory processing disorders) and physical disabilities.
• Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve functional skills.
• Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and overall functional ability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Conduct discharge planning and provide recommendations for ongoing therapy or home modifications as needed.
• Manage case documentation accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
• Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, adaptive techniques, and activity modifications to support ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Stay current with advances in pediatric occupational therapy practices by engaging in professional development activities.

Experience

• Proven experience working with children in pediatric occupational therapy settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, or home health environments.
• Experience treating children with Sensory Integration Dysfunction (Sensory Proceesing Disorders), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), disabilities, or neurodevelopmental delays is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with sensory integration intervention
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology relevant to pediatrics and is essential.
• Prior experience in discharge planning, case management, and working within multidisciplinary teams enhances effectiveness.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
