Pediatric Physical Therapist

The PT will provide hands-on physical therapy services to pediatric patients with a variety of developmental, neurological, and functional needs. You will work closely with families and our multidisciplinary team to help children improve their strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients to determine their physical therapy needs, including assessments of mobility, strength, coordination, and developmental milestones
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals, medical conditions, and clinical best practices in pediatrics
• Provide hands-on therapy interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, trigger point therapy, and gait training to improve functional abilities
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers—to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient management
• Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, home exercise programs, discharge planning, and community resources to support ongoing progress
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation adhering to medical terminology standards and electronic health records (EHR) management protocols
• Participate in discharge planning processes by assessing patient progress and recommending appropriate follow-up or community-based services

Requirements

• Valid license or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist with practicing in pediatric settings required
• Proven experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, or home health environments
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, neurology, orthopedics, and developmental milestones relevant to children’s physical therapy needs
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems for accurate patient record keeping
• Experience in discharge planning, care plan development, and working with geriatric patients is a plus but not required for this role
• Ability to communicate effectively with children of varying ages as well as their families and healthcare teams
• Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology related to pediatrics and neuro-rehabilitation therapies

Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
