What they need
Join Lots of Speech Pediatric Therapy as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and play a vital role in enhancing communication skills for pediatric patients. In this full-time role, you will work exclusively out of a single, collaborative ABA center in Fort Lauderdale, meaning zero travel between clinics or homes.
This position offers a consistent 9-to-5 style schedule, working approximately 7 to 8 hours a day with a guaranteed daily break. As an independent clinician, you will manage your own caseload, conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate daily with ABA professionals to foster effective communication skills and improve the quality of life for the children you serve.
Responsibilities
- Assess & Diagnose: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized assessments and clinical observations, and author detailed evaluation reports.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create and manage customized, evidence-based treatment plans and goals tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
- Deliver Therapy: Provide high-quality, engaging speech therapy sessions focusing on articulation, language comprehension, social communication, fluency, and oral motor skills.
- Collaborative Care: Work seamlessly alongside RBTs, BCBAs, and other healthcare professionals within the ABA center to support comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care and integrate communication goals into behavioral plans.
- Family Education: Educate and consult with parents and families regarding communication strategies and exercises to support ongoing improvement at home.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely documentation of daily progress notes, session data, evaluation reports, and discharge summaries.
- Supervision: Provide mentorship and state-compliant supervision to Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows (CFs), as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
- Licensure & Certification: Valid, active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Florida. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is required (Strong Clinical Fellows may be considered).
- Experience: Prior experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in early intervention or alongside ABA therapy, is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of pediatric speech therapy techniques, child development, and evidence-based practices.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical concepts clearly and compassionately to parents and behavioral staff.
- Team Player: Ability to manage a caseload independently while thriving within a highly collaborative, single-location team environment.
- Passion: A genuine dedication to working with children and empowering them to unlock their full communication potential.
