Duties

• Act as a positive role model by demonstrating respectful, inclusive, and encouraging behavior towards children and peers
• Provide mentorship and support to children, helping them develop social skills and confidence
• Assist in planning and facilitating engaging activities that promote learning, teamwork, and personal growth
• Support children in navigating challenges by offering empathetic listening and constructive advice
• Collaborate with staff and other volunteers to ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants
• Promote program participation by motivating children to engage actively in activities and discussions
• Maintain open communication with program coordinators regarding children's progress and any concerns that arise

Experience

• Prior experience working with children or in youth-focused programs is highly desirable
• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire trust and build rapport quickly
• Demonstrated experience in teaching or facilitating group activities effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal, to connect with diverse youth populations
• Ability to remain patient, approachable, and energetic in dynamic settings
• Experience working collaboratively within a team environment is preferred
