Pega Developer

Role Overview

The Pega Developer designs, builds, and maintains Pega applications with a strong grasp of core platform concepts such as class structure, rule resolution, inheritance, and the case lifecycle. The role focuses on end-to-end solution design, from process modeling and case design to integration with external systems using Connect REST and Service REST. A key expectation is independent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis using Tracer and Clipboard for real-world scenarios. The developer also upholds Pega guardrails and best practices, participates in peer code reviews, and ensures high-quality, scalable deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of Pega Platform core concepts: class structure, inheritance, rule resolution, and case lifecycle
• Ability to model processes and design end-to-end case types and flows
• Proficiency with Pega debugging tools (Tracer, Clipboard) for independent root-cause analysis
• Experience implementing integrations using Connect REST and exposing services via Service REST
• Understanding of integration patterns and end-to-end solutioning approaches
• Experience conducting peer code reviews and enforcing Pega guardrails and coding standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot independently

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Pega applications, including case types, stages, flows, and related rules
• Apply class structure, inheritance, and rule resolution correctly to maximize reuse and maintainability
• Perform independent troubleshooting using Tracer and Clipboard to identify and resolve defects
• Design, build, and test integrations using Connect REST and Service REST following recommended patterns
• Contribute to end-to-end solution design, ensuring robust architecture and clean integration boundaries
• Conduct peer code reviews and enforce adherence to Pega guardrails and coding standards
• Document solutions, integration contracts, and troubleshooting steps; collaborate with team members for quality delivery
