About the role
EXA Technologies is hiring an 8+ years experienced Pega Developer with strong Java and Spring Boot skills to support a leading financial services client in Charlotte. You’ll design and build Pega applications, integrate them with Java-based services, and work with business analysts and architects to deliver case management and decisioning solutions at enterprise scale. This is a long-term role with an established client engagement.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and enhance Pega applications, including case types, flows, data models, UI, and decision rules
• Build and maintain Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs that integrate with Pega
• Configure Pega integrations (REST/SOAP connectors, services, queue processors, job schedulers)
• Translate business requirements and decision logic into maintainable Pega rules
• Follow Pega guardrails and best practices; take part in code reviews and performance tuning
• Support testing, deployments, and production issues in an Agile/Scrum team
• Collaborate with BAs, product owners, QA, and other development teams

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Pega PRPC / Pega Platform (Pega 8.x or Infinity)
• Solid Java development skills, including Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices
• Experience with Pega integrations, data pages, activities, decision tables, and when rules
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with business stakeholders

Nice to have

• Pega certification (CSA, CSSA, or LSA)
• Experience with Pega Constellation, Customer Decision Hub, or Pega Cloud
• Banking or financial services domain experience
• Exposure to AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes

Work arrangement
Hybrid: 3 days a week onsite in Charlotte, NC.
