What they need

Yours for the making.

Forget what you think you know about banking. We do things differently here. We exist to back teachers and nurses - building a bank designed entirely around them.

We're a customer-owned Australian bank with a clear purpose: making every money moment better. While our organisation has evolved, that deep connection to our purpose is stronger than ever. And now, we're scaling new heights. We're more than a bank - we're building something that gives back in real, everyday ways.

The difference you'll make

This is not your typical People Partnering role. As People Partnering Lead, you'll sit at the centre of some of our most important decisions, helping shape the future of Bank First as we grow, transform and build capability for what's next. Partnering with Executive leaders, you'll influence organisational design, workforce strategy and major transformation initiatives.

Leading our People Partnering function, you'll bridge the gap between where Bank First is today and where it is heading. You'll partner with leaders to navigate immediate business challenges, workforce needs and organisational priorities, while helping design and implement future operating models and workforce change. Through trusted partnerships, commercial thinking and data-driven insights, you'll ensure we have the capability, culture and leadership needed to succeed into the future.

Your impact will be felt across every corner of the business, strengthening our people, culture and organisational effectiveness while supporting positive outcomes for our members, employees and communities.

Who we're looking for

You're the kind of People leader who gets energy from understanding how the business really works. You take the time to understand the pressures, trade-offs and realities leaders face. By bringing insight, perspective and practical advice, you earn the trust and credibility needed to influence decisions that shape both today's performance and tomorrow's organisation.

You're equally comfortable partnering with executives on organisational design, transformation and workforce strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves to deliver outcomes.

Most importantly, you're passionate about helping people and organisations thrive. You build trusted relationships, influence with confidence and are motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a purpose-led organisation where people truly matter.

You'll also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology or related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • The ability to earn trust and influence through insight, practical advice and delivery.

  • Experience shaping organisational design, workforce transformation and business change.

  • A commercial mindset, balancing people priorities with business objectives.

  • Curiosity, resilience and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.

  • A hands-on, pragmatic approach and a passion for helping people and organisations thrive.

Why Bank First?

At Bank First, it's not just about profit - it's about giving back. That balance of purpose and performance is how we make a meaningful difference.

At Bank First, you'll find:

  • The chance you've been waiting to take: Here, you'll move faster. We support our people to step up into opportunities that set their careers apart.

  • The difference you're ready to make: Discover real autonomy and opportunities to innovate and drive meaningful change.

  • The bank you'll want to create: Shape the future of purpose-driven banking with a team that values you as a whole person.

You'll also enjoy a range of perks, including:

  • 6 extra days of ‘Be You' leave every year, on top of your annual leave.

  • Free onsite parking at our Hawthorn East office.

  • Flexibility so work fits around your life, not the other way around.

  • $285 annual ‘Be Well' contribution for your health, hobbies, or wellbeing, plus wellbeing coaching and tools.

  • 12 weeks paid parental leave, super for up to 52 weeks, and flexible return with reduced hours at full pay.

  • Paid volunteer leave to support the community partners we're proud to back.

Ready to make your mark?

If you're ready to be bold, move faster and be part of something bigger, we'd love to hear from you.
