• Lead the design and optimization of therapeutic peptides, peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs), and constrained macrocycles using structure-based and AI-driven approaches.
• Direct peptide sequence optimization to enhance potency, selectivity, and drug-like properties (stability, solubility, permeability, oral bioavailability).
• Conduct structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies to guide peptide optimization in close collaboration with medicinal chemists, computational chemists, and biologists.
• Apply molecular modeling, docking, and pharmacophore analysis to predict peptide–target interactions and binding modes.
• Partner with synthetic chemists to design peptide synthetic routes and optimize reaction conditions.
• Contribute to peptide drug-discovery programs from hit identification through pre-clinical development.
• Present research findings and strategic recommendations in cross-functional team meetings.
• Leverage small-molecule drug-design expertise to improve peptide therapeutic properties and enable cross-modality strategies.
• Act as the primary patent liaison: draft patent applications, monitor prosecution, and evaluate emerging patents to support freedom-to-operate and competitive intelligence. Qualifications：
• Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field with a strong background in both small-molecule and peptide synthesis and drug design. 2.5–10 years of drug-discovery experience with proven expertise in structure-based drug design (SBDD) and ligand optimization.
• Proficiency in drug-design software suites such as MOE, PyMOL, Schrödinger, Discovery Studio, or equivalents.
• Solid understanding of peptide or protein–ligand interaction principles.
• Hands-on experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and IP strategy within the peptide or biopharmaceutical space.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
