What they need
Help Build the Next Generation of Collision Prevention Technology
Are you passionate about computer vision, robotics, AI, and autonomous systems? Do you enjoy solving complex real-world problems using cameras, LiDAR, radar, and advanced perception technologies?
We are looking for a Perception ADAS Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Perth. In this role, you will contribute to the development, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of perception systems that support advanced driver assistance and collision prevention technologies used in mining and construction environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that makes heavy vehicle operations safer while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior ADAS Engineer, you will develop and optimise perception solutions that enable reliable object detection, classification, tracking, depth estimation, and scene understanding in challenging real-world operating conditions.
You will work with a range of sensing technologies including cameras, LiDAR, radar, and associated sensor fusion systems, helping to improve safety, reliability, and performance across deployed products.
Key Responsibilities
Perception Engineering
- Develop, integrate, and maintain perception algorithms for object detection, classification, tracking, depth estimation, and scene understanding.
- Work with camera, LiDAR, radar, and sensor-fusion data to deliver robust perception performance.
- Develop and optimise computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning pipelines.
- Support sensor calibration activities, including camera calibration, stereo calibration, sensor alignment, and validation.
- Implement and optimise inference pipelines for embedded, edge, and GPU-accelerated platforms.
- Investigate and resolve perception issues including false detections, tracking failures, depth errors, latency concerns, and performance degradation.
- Analyse datasets, identify failure modes, and drive continuous improvement of perception models and system performance.
- Develop automated testing, validation, logging, and performance monitoring tools.
- Support integration of perception systems within broader ADAS and collision prevention platforms.
Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with software, hardware, embedded, systems, and testing engineers.
- Participate in sprint planning, technical reviews, and engineering discussions.
- Investigate field-reported issues and support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution activities.
- Engage with customers, field teams, and technology partners to support validation and continuous improvement.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, progress, and recommendations to stakeholders.
