What they need
An opportunity to make a real difference
Do you enjoy turning complex information into practical solutions? Are you confident working with clinicians and senior leaders to understand challenges, develop ideas and improve services?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Information and Performance Manager to join Surgical Services at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. This is an opportunity to take on a varied and influential role, working across General Surgery, Plastic and Breast Surgery, and Urology to help shape how our services develop and deliver for patients.
This is much more than a reporting role. You will use your analytical skills, operational understanding and ability to build relationships to help us understand demand, make the best use of our capacity and identify opportunities to improve performance, productivity and patient care.
Lead the Information and Programme Management Offices within the Surgical Services Care Group, providing performance management, business intelligence, planning and service improvement support.
Develop capacity and demand models across all directorates, covering inpatient and outpatient activity, workforce, productivity, utilisation and waiting list trajectories. Manage reporting and dashboards, ensuring accurate, timely information aligned with Trust and national requirements. Analyse performance risks, capacity constraints and improvement opportunities, translating complex data into actionable recommendations for operational teams, clinicians and executive forums.
Lead the development of evidence-based business cases for service developments and capital investment, covering capacity modelling, workforce, financial implications, benefits, risks, options and implementation plans, working with clinical and operational colleagues.
Lead and manage the Information and Service Improvement function, ensuring clear objectives, appropriate workloads, staff development and effective performance management.
Oversee Care Group performance against NHS constitutional standards, Trust objectives, contractual requirements and local KPIs. Ensure early risk identification, effective escalation and delivery of directorate recovery plans. Coordinate performance, efficiency and service improvement initiatives to deliver agreed priorities.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its employees. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
