Performance Physiologist

Location: Lake Karapiro, Cambridge

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Performance Physiology team at HPSNZ. This full-time permanent role involves providing performance physiology support to New Zealand’s high-performance athletes and coaches—within the Rowing New Zealand programme.

You’ll work collaboratively with other performance science and health disciplines to deliver effective support in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a high achiever with sound exercise physiology knowledge
• Possess a range of technical skills relevant to physiological assessment and athlete monitoring
• Possess strong data management and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise and communicate complex information clearly to coaches and athletes
• Be able to design, prescribe, and evaluate training programmes for athletes
• Have experience working with athletes and coaches in a physiology/scientific support role or applied research setting
• Be agile and able to work effectively as a key member of a wider performance support team
