About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Perfumer with strong expertise in fragrance creation, olfactive evaluation, raw-material understanding, and application performance across personal care and related categories. The role will be responsible for developing original fragrances from brief to final selection, modifying and optimizing formulas, evaluating performance in application, and collaborating closely with R&D, formulation, analytical, consumer, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create original fragrance compositions based on consumer, category, market, and customer briefs.
• Develop and modify fragrance formulas using a strong understanding of raw materials, accords, top–heart–base architecture, fixatives, diffusion, and dry-down .
• Evaluate and optimize fragrances for character, strength, bloom, substantivity, longevity, stability, and overall brief fit .
• Develop fragrances across relevant categories such as hair care, personal wash, skin care, home care, air care, and fine fragrance , as applicable.
• Conduct fragrance matching, benchmarking, competitive analysis, and olfactive mapping.
• Work closely with application and formulation teams to optimize dosage, compatibility, stability, and performance in different product bases .
• Identify and resolve fragrance-related issues such as odour shift, discoloration, instability, and base interactions .
• Build and maintain a strong raw-material, accord, benchmark, and formula library .
• Evaluate and incorporate new aroma chemicals, naturals, captives, and sustainable fragrance ingredients.
• Interpret analytical inputs such as GC, GC-MS, GC-headspace or related data to support fragrance development and troubleshooting.
• Translate consumer and marketing language such as fresh, clean, premium, floral, gourmand, woody, etc. into precise olfactive direction and fragrance creation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, and fragrance experts to deliver projects from concept to commercialization.
• Ensure fragrance development aligns with IFRA, allergen, BIS, safety, and internal regulatory requirements .
• Maintain accurate formula records, modification histories, technical documentation, and confidentiality around fragrance IP.

Candidate Profile:

• 7+ years of relevant experience in perfumery, fragrance creation, fragrance development, or creative fragrance management .
• Proven hands-on experience in creating and modifying fragrance formulas , not only evaluating finished fragrances.
• Strong knowledge of fragrance raw materials, olfactive families, accords, fragrance construction, and performance characteristics .
• Experience working across personal care, hair care, home care, air care, fine fragrance, or related consumer-product categories preferred.
• Strong olfactive memory with the ability to detect, discriminate, and articulate subtle fragrance nuances.
• Experience in fragrance application, stability assessment, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with GC / GC-MS / headspace interpretation is preferred.
• Knowledge of IFRA standards and fragrance regulatory requirements .
• Strong creative thinking, technical problem-solving, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education:

• Degree / Master’s in Chemistry, Perfumery, Cosmetic Technology, Food Technology, Chemical Technology, Life Sciences , or a related field.
• Formal qualification or training in Perfumery / Fragrance Technology from institutions such as ICT, FFDC, ISIPCA, Grasse Institute, or a fragrance-house training program will be a strong advantage.
