About the role

We are looking for an experienced Loss Adjuster to strengthen our team in Brazil . You will take full ownership of your own claims portfolio, from first notification to final report, across different lines of business. You will be a trusted point of contact for insurers, reinsurers, brokers and insured parties, and you’ll help shape the quality and reputation of McLarens in the Brazilian market.

Key responsibilities

Claims management

• Manage an assigned portfolio of claims in Brazil end to end, independently and within agreed deadlines
• Review insurance and reinsurance policies to determine coverage, exclusions and applicable conditions
• Keep files, time records and internal systems up to date in line with McLarens procedures

Investigation and quantification

• Lead site visits, inspections and claim investigations, including cause-and-origin analysis
• Quantify losses and recommend reserves, adjustments and settlement amounts
• Coordinate external experts such as engineers, forensic accountants and legal advisors as each case requires

Reporting and client relationships

• Prepare clear, technically sound preliminary, interim and final loss adjustment reports
• Act as the main point of contact for insurers, reinsurers, brokers and insured parties on your files
• Negotiate settlements within your delegated authority

Team contribution

• Share technical knowledge and coach junior adjusters
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our service standards in Brazil

What we’re looking for

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical), Law, Finance, Accounting or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in loss adjusting, handling claims independently in one or more lines of business
• Fluent Portuguese, spoken and written
• Solid experience in policy interpretation, loss quantification and technical report writing
• Availability to travel within Brazil for site inspections
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Nice to have

• English and/or Spanish desirable
• Experience with international or reinsurance claims
• Professional registration in your field (e.g., CREA, OAB, CRC)
