Permanent Lighting Installer

$16–$23 per hour | Full-Time | Monday–Thursday

IllumiLights is looking for reliable, hardworking people to join our installation team installing permanent exterior LED lighting on homes and businesses throughout Southeast Idaho.

Previous construction, electrical, or other hands-on experience is helpful, but permanent lighting experience is not required. We provide training. What matters most to us is that you show up on time, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, work well with customers, and can be counted on by your team.

This is an outdoor, hands-on job that involves working from ladders and roofs, using power tools, making low-voltage electrical connections, and working as part of an installation crew.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday–Thursday
• Typically 10-hour shifts
• Outdoor work year-round
• Overtime is common during our busy season, generally September through December

Pay & Advancement

• $16/hr — Trainee
• $18/hr — Certified Technician after completing training
• $20/hr — Senior Technician
• Up to $23/hr — Advanced and experienced technicians

New installers spend approximately their first month training with our foreman and experienced technicians before becoming certified techs.

Advancement is based on your ability to learn the installation process, produce quality work, work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and be dependable. As technicians advance, they are also expected to become comfortable explaining the lighting system and training customers on how to use the system and mobile app. Strong performers can move up quickly.

After 60 days of employment, full-time installers are eligible for:

• Paid holidays: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day

What You'll Do

• Install permanent exterior LED lighting systems
• Install low-voltage controllers and wiring
• Measure, cut, and install aluminum track
• Make and seal electrical connections
• Run low-voltage cable through attics and other areas when needed
• Work safely from ladders, roofs, and building eaves
• Use drills, saws, metal snips, and other hand and power tools
• Test completed lighting systems
• Troubleshoot installation issues
• Load and unload materials for each project
• Keep company vehicles, trailers, tools, and work areas organized
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers
• Explain basic system operation to customers after installation
• Follow company installation and safety procedures

Installers generally work in teams of two, consisting of a lead technician and a certified technician.

• Is comfortable talking with homeowners and customers
• Is comfortable working outdoors
• Isn't afraid of heights
• Can safely lift and carry approximately 50 lbs.
• Can use basic hand and power tools or is comfortable learning
• Can perform basic measurements and math

Experience in construction, electrical work, roofing, maintenance, landscaping, farming, automotive work, manufacturing, or other hands-on jobs is a plus, but not required.

• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
