What they need

About Us

Hogan Construction operates three divisions: The Foam Guys (deep foam injection for foundation and slab stabilization), The Foundation Guys (our Colorado division), and Hogan Roofing & Waterproofing (commercial roofing and waterproofing in Florida). We are a family-run company that has grown steadily by doing technical work other contractors turn down. Our office is a small, fast-moving team where what you do is visible and it matters.

About the Role

Twelve months in, you will know every jurisdiction we work in by name — who to call, what they want, and how long they take. Our permits will go in complete the first time, our contractor registrations will never lapse, and project managers will stop asking “where are we on the permit?” because they will already know. You will also own our vehicle registrations, titles, and tags, so nothing on the fleet runs out of date.

What You'll Do

  • Permit Applications — Prepare, submit, and manage permit applications for projects across cities and counties throughout Florida.
  • Contractor Registrations — Complete and maintain contractor licensing and registration with each municipality we work in.
  • Blueprint Review — Review blueprints and construction documents for accuracy and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Municipal Liaison — Act as our point of contact with city and county offices for permit status, plan reviews, and inspection scheduling.
  • Notarization — Notarize permit documentation as needed.
  • Document Management — Keep permit and registration records organized, current, and easy for anyone to find.
  • Compliance — Make sure every application and supporting document meets local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Internal Coordination — Work with project managers, estimators, and subcontractors to gather what is needed and get submissions in on time.
  • Administrative Support — Provide general administrative support related to project files and reporting.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Minimum 2 years in a permit processing role within Florida's construction industry
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Familiar with city and county permit portals and procedures across Florida
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Comfortable managing multiple permits and deadlines at once, and following up until something is resolved

Preferred

  • Valid Florida Notary Public certification (we will help you get commissioned if you are not)
  • Experience with roofing, foundation, or specialty construction permitting
  • Experience handling vehicle registrations, titles, and tags
  • Experience working for a company that acts as the qualifying entity for other contractors

What Success Looks Like

  • Permits submitted complete and on time, with few revision requests
  • No lapsed contractor registrations, anywhere we work
  • Permit status current and visible without anyone having to ask
  • Strong communication with clients, keeping them updated on where their permit stands
  • Minimal project delays traced back to permitting
  • Vehicle registrations and tags renewed before they expire
  • Strong working relationships with the jurisdictions we deal with most

Work Environment

  • Office-based, on-site, with regular contact with building departments and inspectors
  • Fast-paced, with priorities that shift as jobs move
  • Occasional field or inspection presence may be required
  • Professional communication and discretion at all times
