What they need

We are hiring a Personal Assistant for Deaf BSL users

Deaf Community Independence CIC (DCI) is a small non profit company supporting Deaf people to lead active, healthy lives, promoting independence, empowerment and reducing isolation.

This post is open to women only. Being female is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, because the role supports clients who require female support for reasons of religious observance and personal safety.

  • Typically 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on client need (not guaranteed)
  • Flexible days each week to suit applicant and clients
  • As the company grows, there is the possibility of hours increasing and of being offered a contract with set weekly hours

Hourly rate

  • £13.00 per hour for a 4-month probationary period, rising to £13.30 per hour on successful completion
  • Out of hours work (evenings and weekends): £13.50 per hour

  • Patient and understanding, with an open mind
  • Access to a vehicle with business-use insurance, to travel within the Warwickshire and just outside as the company grows. The role involves transporting clients, some with mobility needs, so the vehicle must be easy to get into and out of (for example, not a low sports-style car)
