Personal Care Aide

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in our behavioral health facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive personal care, patient observation, and compassionate caregiving. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring support with daily activities and health monitoring.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support medication administration under supervision and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met.
• Provide companionship and emotional support while respecting residents’ rights and promoting independence.
• Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times.

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and respond appropriately to their needs.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or autism spectrum disorder is preferred.
• Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring techniques, medication administration procedures, and patient transfer methods.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or heavy lifting is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a caregiving team while maintaining client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
