Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
• Support medication administration following established care plans and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to ensure privacy and safety.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions.
• Facilitate patient transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques to promote mobility and safety.
• Maintain a clean environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring hygiene standards are upheld in resident areas.
• Provide emotional support through effective client communication, active listening, and companionship to foster trust and well-being.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with individuals in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to support diverse needs.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely and effectively.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in patient monitoring and emergency response is advantageous.
• Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, HIPAA regulations, patient personal care assistance, and resident's rights ensures compliance with healthcare standards.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within a caregiving environment.
