Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report any concerns to medical staff promptly.
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Facilitate patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to promote safe mobility.
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring a hygienic environment.
• Provide emotional support through active listening, engaging in meaningful communication, and fostering a caring atmosphere.
• Assist with transportation for appointments or community activities to promote social engagement and independence.
• Follow established care plans meticulously while documenting observations and updates for team members.
• Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities through personalized approaches.

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in condition with attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
• Familiarity with dementia care, memory care strategies, hospice care practices, and neurodevelopmental disorders support is advantageous.
• Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or intellectual disabilities supports your ability to deliver personalized care effectively.
• Strong background in caregiving roles involving personal transportation assistance, meal preparation, and assisting with ADLs enhances your suitability for this role.
