Personal Care Assistant

Innovative Educational Staffing is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a student in an elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized personal care and support to an assigned elementary school student throughout the school day.
• Assist with student arrival each morning and ensure the student transitions safely and smoothly into the school environment.
• Establish and maintain a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with the assigned student.
• Support the student's daily routines, personal care needs, and school-related activities as required.
• Assist the student with transitions between classrooms, activities, and other school settings.
• Encourage student independence, confidence, participation, and engagement in the school environment.
• Maintain a calm, patient, nurturing, and professional demeanor when working with children.
• Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and other school personnel to support the student's individual needs.
• Follow school procedures, student support plans, and all applicable confidentiality and safety requirements.
• Maintain consistent attendance and arrive on time each day to ensure the student receives support beginning with morning arrival.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

• A genuine love for working with children and the ability to interact with elementary-aged students in a positive, caring, and respectful manner.
• Excellent punctuality and attendance. Arriving on time every day is essential, particularly for morning student arrival and transitions.
• Patience, compassion, dependability, and a positive attitude.
• The ability and willingness to build a meaningful, trusting relationship with an assigned student.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to follow directions, maintain professional boundaries, and work collaboratively with school staff.
• A willingness to learn the student's individual needs, routines, and support requirements.
• The ability to remain attentive, engaged, and supportive throughout the school day.
• A commitment to maintaining student confidentiality, safety, and dignity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in an elementary school, childcare, special education, or educational support setting.
• Experience providing one-on-one student support or personal care assistance.
• Familiarity with supporting children with disabilities or individualized educational needs.

Expected hours: 24.0 – 35.0 per week
