Personal Care Assistant

Responsibilities for Residential Counselor

• provide non-medical clinical care to clients in home setting
• perform initial screening of clients on intake
• develop and implement case plans with clients
• monitor, evaluate and submit regular reports on client progress
• work collaboratively with other professionals within and outside of the facility, in order to best support the needs of clients
• work with clients' families to create strong support networks and to promote healthy relationships
• make referrals for other services or to other agencies, as required
• maintain client files

Qualifications for Residential Counselor

• 3+ years of relevant counseling experience, including individual and group programming
• a valid first aid certificate with CPR
• willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and/or weekends
• strong skills in crisis management and intervention
• advanced oral and written communication skills
• in-depth knowledge of various counseling approaches
• flexibility in approach to treatment, depending on client needs
• training in suicide prevention
• proficiency in using word processing and spreadsheet software

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
