Personal Care Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting any changes or concerns related to vital signs, behavior, or physical condition
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents or clients with mobility challenges
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies

Skills

• Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia
• Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle urgent situations effectively
• Strong patient observation skills for monitoring vital signs, behavioral cues, and overall health status
• Ability to work with care plans that include medication administration and specific patient needs such as Alzheimer's or memory care
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, patients, families, and social workers
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents during transfers or mobility activities
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
